I am writing from the One Night Count, the annual night where hundreds of volunteers count the number of people currently experiencing homelessness outside. Yes, it is five in the morning. Yes, I just spent the better part of this morning walking under freeway underpasses in teams counting tents. And yes, it's important!
It has been a unique and changing experience, that's for sure. I can't even imagine if that was my life. The people who live on the streets are pretty amazing for their endurance, that's for sure.
This has been quite the year.
PS - Just reread this and I'm clearly exhausted. Time for more sleep!!
