where i've been

american things

I flew into Dallas, Texas of all places to begin my journey back to the world of America. The land where everything is bigger, where ten-gallon hats and cowboy boots are the norm and the dancing Cowgirls on T.V. remind us what the world is really about. I sat down in the airport in a gray, comfortless chair (somewhat like the grey, comfortless mood to which I had succumbed), looked over and saw a pile of McDonalds trash, an empty Starbucks cup and a discarded Rockstar Energy Drink can, right in front of a large flat-screen T.V. where American football was playing and men were surrounding it, yelling.

Perhaps my feelings for being back are evident.

In any case, I am in fact, back. Or at least my body is, my mind being somewhere amongst the Spanish countryside dancing around medieval castles and Mediterranean seas to flamenco rhythms. But, what this unfortunately means is that "The Adventures of K" might be taking a different turn -- an Americanized one. Luckily for all of you, I hope to continue to have more adventures, and, of course, I always have unsolicited opinions on the state of the world, which I can continue to market into cyberspace on the off-chance someone cares to listen. But, I hope to further peak your interest and that you'll continue reading, though I probably won't be jetsetting off to Paris anytime soon. But, I might make it up to San Francisco, and I have a feeling there's some journeys left to be had yet in this world of California -- so, there's that, at least.

Wishing you lots of love, happiness and the
occasional bit of anarchy this holiday season!

always yours,
k
