where i've been

From Pauline Fromme's travel book of Spain:

Alicante is one of the brightest stars on the Mediterranean coast. Its white buildings, fine hotels, shop-laden avenues, azulejo-covered esplande, radiant yacht-filled harbor, and curving palm-tree-lined-beach--all overlooks by a huge ochre castle perched atop a white rocky peak--combine to convey the impression of an affluent, sun-drenched paradise where lotus eaters can enjoy "the good life" year-round.
